This debit and credit ledger records transactions concerning the lead trade in Derbyshire, with some farming memoranda. Many of the individuals and families named in the ledger can be identified as being from Derbyshire (Lawrence Oxley of Chesterfield, John Spateman of Roadnook, etc). This volume is one of the earliest surviving accounts of a Derbyshire lead merchant.
