4 - Copy of Thomas Hallowes' will: his eldest son Brabazon is to have the property in Glapwell, Bolsover, Scarcliffe, Ault Hucknall and Dethick, other than what is reserved by Thomas's marriage settlement. The property is charged with the payments of £600 apiece to Thomas's children Juliana, Chaworth, Chambre, Catherine, Frances and John at 21 or on marriage and in the meantime they are to be maintained from the interest on these sums. Since it has proved expensive to apprentice his son William in London, he is to have only £450 on the completion of his apprenticeship. All Thomas's children are to have £400 additionally after wife Lady Catherine's death. Specific bequeaths of personal items to Lady Catherine and Brabazon, residue to be divided equally between the children. 24 Feb 1739/40 - [1740]
