2 - Final concord between Edward Pallaviane and Henry Mannering plaintiff and Thomas Leeke defendant, of the manor of Leeke Magna and Parva, and 12 messuages, 6 cottages, 12 gardens, 600 acres of land, 100 acres of meadow, 800 acres of pasture, 100 acres of wood, 600 acres of heath, 5 s 6d rent and common pasture for all animals in Leeke Magna and Parva, Oxstone and Normanton super sore [Nottinghamshire]. 6 - Articles of agreement between 1) John Wathey of Ripley yeoman and Richard Ryley of Ripley yeoman, 2) Thomas Bateman, Robert Stirland, Robert Newton and John Sutton, all of Ripley yeoman. Reciting bargain and sale 10 Jun 1618 by John Zouch, late of Codnor Castle to James Wright, late of Ripley and Robert Wild, late of Codnor, paying £10 to Zouch and £5 19s 6d yearly to the King, of the manor of Ripley, except Butterley Hall and Butterley Park; also reciting deeds dated 20 Apr and 18 May 1620 by Wright to Wild of a moiety of the manor; also reciting indenture dated 15 Nov 1621, consideration £50, of half the premises by Wild to John Wathey, Richard Ryley, father of Richard Ryley a party to this deed, and John Cowper then of Ripley yeoman, since deceased, on behalf of the freeholders of the farms in Ripley called holds or half-holds, who raised the consideration; Salterwood Common was then divided among the freeholders according to the proportion of their lands and enclosed, except 30 acres of land called the Tenthes which were also enclosed to be used for raising the yearly rent of £5 19s 6d. It is agreed that the moiety of the manor is vested in those of the first part as trustees, to let with the consent of the majority of freeholders at a yearly meeting. The trustees are not to give any person authority to get ironstone. Those of the second part may get stone for building or gorse for fuel upon any of the wastes in Ripley, except the ground so inclosed, as formerly, 30 Mar - 1659

7 - Bond in £43 by John Spencer of Alderwasley yeoman to William Hill of Wessington yeoman, to save and keep harmless 2 closes of land with tithes in Wessington lately sold by Spencer to Hill, and from such jointure as Mary wife of Spencer has in the premises, 5 June - 1674

8 - Lease for 21 years by Marquis of Halifax, Lord Privy Seal, to John Stones of Shirland yeoman and John Wright of the same weaver, of one third of closes and parcels of land in Shirland called the Two Pasture Closes and the Foure Chappell Cleffe Closes containing 20 acres now in the occupation of Stones or his assigns, and one third of 4 closes called the Pastures in Shirland containing 9 acres with one third of a house thereupon lately built now in the occupation of Wright or his assigns, and one third of 2 closes in Shirland Park containing 6 acres now in the occupation of Wright or his assigns, with ways, passages and watercourses, (except warrens, woods, mines of lead, coal, ironstone and limestone, with liberty of dig, fell and carry away). Yearly rent £4 12s 6d. The lessees covenant to do suit at the courts of the manor of Shirland, and to the next mill of the lessor and Charles, Earl of Shrewsbury, to repair the premises, to pay the yearly sum of £3 for every acre of ley ground ploughed up to be sown with corn in the last two years, and not to assign the premises, except to their wives or children, without consent 10 May 36 Charles II - [1684]

9 - Lease for 6 months (release missing) by John Allsebrooke of Shirland yeoman to Samuel Smith of Morton, of one third of pieces of land meadow or pasture called the Meane Close and the Maple Tree Close, and one third of 3½ acres to be taken out of the remainder of the close called the Pasture, all in Shirland, containing 12 acres, 21 Mar 1 William and Mary 1689 (sic) - 1689

10 - Final concord between Cornelius Clarke, John Bagshawe and John Allsebrooke quers, and Robert Smith and Alice his wife, Sampson Haydon and Alice his wife and Thomas Strutt and Anne his wife defendants, of 10 acres of land, 6 acres of meadow, 10 acres of pasture and common pasture for all cattle; one third of 15 acres of land, 5 acres of meadow and 7 acres of pasture, and one sixth of 9 acres of land, 3 acres of meadow and 4 acres of pasture in Staveley, Hague, Boythorpe, Tapton, Newbold and Shirland. 11 - Bargain and sale by Joseph Moore and Anne his wife of Alfreton mercer and Samuel Moore of Kegworth, Leicestershire fellmonger to John Clarke of Alfreton mason, consideration 10s to Joseph and Anne and £25 to Samuel Moore, of a house and gardens in Alfreton and 2½ yards x 2½ yards of land. Warranty against any fee farm or quit rent to Rowland Morewood. The bargainers promise the bargainee liberty to bring in and lay down, in the common way into their fould yard, stone, brick, wood, thatch and other materials necessary for repairing the premises, and to carry out the remainder and rubbish in carts, carriages or on horseback, 25 Mar - 1710

12 - Covenant between Francis Hollynsheade of Bossely [Bosely] Cheshire and John Rothewell of Staffordshire mercer. Francis covenants that Dorothy now wife of John will come to the next consistory court in Lichfield and there confess matter sufficient to cause a divorce between her and John; that she will at the next assize court in Staffordshire do such acts, by fine or other ways, required by John for the surrender of her jointure in the houses, buildings or lands of the inheritance of John. John covenants to cease all actions and suits against Francis, Dorothy, Christopher Jolly, John Blower and his wife, and to pay Dorothy £10 immediately after the fine is acknowledged, 2 Apr 27 Eliz - [1585]
