1 - Deed of gift from Alan, son of Geoffrey de Hulme of Chesterfield to Henry de Sutton, schoolmaster of Chesterfield, of a messuage with buildings and appurtenances in the vill of Chesterfield lying in Soutergate [Saltergate] between the messuage of Stephen le Byr on the north and his own messuage on the south, abutting headlands above the King's Highway and the lane of Stephen le Byr leading towards the water called the Heper [ River Hipper]. Witnesses Adam de Newbold, Roger de Mansfield, William de Ridgeway, Roger de Glapwell, Robert de Darley, Walter de Kedleston, Robert the clerk and others. Dated at Chesterfield, Wednesday before the Feast of the St Denis, 14 Edw II [8 Oct 1320] - 1320

2 - Deed of gift from Nicholas Fox of Chesterfield to Adam Horn of Chesterfield, chaplain, of a shop and messuage with buildings in the vill of Chesterfield, the shop lying in the new market in Potter Rowe between the shops of John Houde and John le Harker, and the messuage with buildings in Soutergate [Saltergate] between the plots of Adam, son of Robert de Harleyeand the Lord of Chesterfield, adjoining headlands above the High Way and the courtyard of Robert de Hampton. 3 - Deed of gift from Richard de Dronfield of the manor of Chesterfield to John son of Adam del Grene of Staveley Woodthorpe, of a messuage with appurtenances in the vill of Chesterfield in Soutergate [Saltergate] between the tenements of Avota Chaloner and Roger de Flintham, situated at the headlands above the King's Way and a place called le Gotherd - [20 Sep 1360]

4 - Deed of gift from John Pog[er] of Chesterfield to Roger del Leghes of Chesterfield, chaplain and John Goule of the same, of a tenement lying in Soutergate [Saltergate] between the tenement of Peter del Kyrke on the north and the tenement of the Dean of the Blessed Mary of Lincoln, in which Henry Perysson stays, on the south, adjoining headlands over the High Way on the west and the place called le Gotesyorde on the east, in Chesterfield. Witnesses Nicholas de Bantwell, Robert de Flintham, Robert de Hampton, John Beverege, John del Frith and others. 5 - Deed of quitclaim from Matilda, wife and executrix of Adam del Grene of Staveley, to John Pog[er] of Chestrefeld, of a messuage in Chesterfield lying in Soutergate [Saltergate] between the tenement of Henry, son of Peter, on the south and the tenement of the aforeaid John on the north (the messuage held as dowry). 7 - Deed of gift from Roger Dethek [Dethick] to Robert Beyle, Henry Walker, clerk, John Coventry, clerk, and William Marshall, of a tenement in Soutergate [Saltergate] in Chesterfield , lying between the tenement of William Dethek to the north and the tenement of the Dean of Lincoln on the south, adjoining the headlands above the King's Way and above the garden of the Dean of Lincoln. 8 - Deed of confirmation of William Bate, son of John Bate of Twhaththwayte, and Joan Bate, widow of John Bate, confirming a gift made by Joan to Robert Blackwall, of a messuage, croft and six acres of land in Chesterfield and Newbold as described below - [16 Sep 1449]

9 - Bond whereby Thomas Blande of Bonsall, mercer, is bound to Thomas Mellor in 40 shillings for the payment of chief rents and amercements to the Dean of Lincoln relating to the place in Sowtergate [Saltergate] lately purchased by Thomas Mellor, dated 20 Apr 3 Hen VII [1488] - 1488

10 - Deed of quitclaim from Adam Horne of Chesterfield, chaplain, to his sister, Mary Horne, of a messuage in the vill of Chesterfield in le Wikeday Marketh [Weekday Market] next to Tapton Lane to the east and the messuage of John Clerk to the west, adjoining headlands above the King's Way to the south and the garden of John Vete to the north. Dated at Chesterfield., Tuesday before the Feast of St Martin 35 Edw III [9 Nov 1361] - 1361

11 - Deed of gift from Hugh de Sheffield and Roger Vete of Chesterfield, chaplains, to Roger Rachel of Chesterfieldand Mary his wife, of a messuage with buildings and appurtenances in Chesterfield at le Wykedaymarketh [Weekday Market] between Tapton Lane on the east and messuages once of John Clerk on the west, adjoining headlands over the highway and courtyards of John Vete, which premises are, after the deaths of Roger and Mary, to go to Roger, son of William Mauger or his legitimate heirs after his death - [9 Feb 1371]

Dawson of the same and Benedicta his wife, of a messuage in the vill of Chesterfield on the corner of Tapton Lane adjoining a messuage of Henry Foliambe [Foljambe], and headlands above the King's Way and the garden of Ralph Frechwell [Frescheville] of Brimington. Witnesses: Richard Asshe jun, Robert Flint, Thomas Asshe, Robert Asshe, Alan Lache, Thomas Mellor and John Wilson and others. Dated at Chesterfield, Monday before the Feast of the Purification of St Mary 18 Hen VII [30 Jan 1503] - 1503

14 - Deed of gift from Godfrey Foliambe [Foljambe] of Walton, esquire, to John Dains of Chesterfield, of a messuage above le Cornell' [?the corner] of Tapton Lane extending from the lane to the east to the messuage late of Henry Foliambe [Foljambe] on the west, lying by the headlands above the King's Highway to the south and the garden of Ralph Frechevyle [Frescheville] of Brimington to the north , the messuage lately had from the gift of John Dawson, son and heir of William Dawson late of Chesterfield, deceased; the deed also appointing John Northege, clerk and Henry Raysnhawe, smith, both of Chesterfield, his attorneys to deliver possession.
