Collapse D848 - Manor of Repton - [20th cent]D848 - Manor of Repton - [20th cent]
1 - Xerox copy of a 19th century copy of an inquisition (c1540) into the descent of the manor of Repton, proving the entitlement of the prior of Repton to 1/4 and 1/16th of the manor. The inquisition is in English and traces the manor back to Hugh Lupus, Earl of Chester, (d. 1120). It would seem to have been made soon after the dissolution of the monasteries, possibly to establish the portion of the manor to which the purchaser of Repton Priory was entitled. - 20th Cent
