1 - Correspondence file regarding overcrowding of Whaley Thorns Infant Schools including a census of all the children of school age in the district, a list of houses in Bolsover, Whaley Scarcliffe and Cuckney owned by the Sheepbridge Company. Also included is correspondence with the architects regarding the contsruction of a new 'Babies Room' later amended to a completely new Infants School (for a plan showing Whaley Thorns school in relation to Bolsover, Scarcliff and Cuckney see D834/3/3/1 and for plans of the proposed Infants school see D834/3/3/2-4) - 1899-1901
2 - Correspondence file regarding the building and cost of the new school, the building loan from the Public Works Loan Board and the willingness of Nether Langwith and Scarcliff Parish Councils to contribute to the costs of the new Infants School. Also included is a census of all children agend between 3-13 living within one and a half miles of Whaley Thorns School. - 1901-1903
