Thomas Chesher of Hinckley, county Leicester, yeoman, of close in lordship of Weston called Old Close containing 5 acres in the tenure of Katherine Robinson, between close of Joseph Bostock on the North and the Trent on the south (heretofore purchased by Thomas Gilbert) to use of John Gilbert. Dated 13,14 Aug - 1745

5-6 - Marriage settlement by lease and release made between 1. John Gilbert late of Dordon parish Polesworth, but now of Middleton, county Warwick, grasier 2. Abijah Hill the elder of Hall End, Polesworth, gentleman and Abijah Hill the younger of ?Fisherwick county Stafford, gentleman son of Abijah the elder and 3. Mary Hill daughter of Abijah the elder, whereby in consideration of marriage of John Gilbert and Mary Hill and Mary's portion of £100 to be paid on the marriage, Gilbert granted close as in D 779B/T 1138-9 to party 2. in trust for himself until the marriage, then to use of anyone John Gilbert and Mary should appoint, with 2.'s consent, and in default of appointment to the use of Gilbert for life, then Mary for life, then of Mary's heirs by Gilbert, then of the heirs of the survivor of Gilbert and Mary, with provision for Mary to be paid £100 at Gilbert's death if there were no children and £50 if there were children. Dated 16,17 May - 1746
7 - Appointment made between 1. William Markham of Middleton, county Warwick yeoman and Mary his wife, late widow of John Gilbert, late of Middleton grazier 2. Abijah Hill the elder as in D 779B/T 1142-3 and Abijah Hill the younger late of Fisberwick, county Stafford, but now of Attleborough, county Warwick gentleman and 3. Abijah Gilbert of Coxbich, county Leicester yeoman eldest son of Mary (Markham) and John Gilbert, by which for 5s paid by Gilbert to the Markhams and in consideration of Mary's love for her son, the Markhams appointed with the Hills' consent, property as in D 779B/T 1142-3 to Gilbert. Dated 28 August - 1773
8-9 - Lease and release by 1. Abijah Gilbert of Coxbich, county Leicester, grazier to 2. Joseph Bostock of Weston yeoman, for £300, of Old Close containing 5 acres in Weston in the possession of Joseph Bostock. Dated 7, 8 April - 1774
10 - Covenant made between 1. William Markham and Mary his wife described as in D 779B/T 1144 and Abijah Gilbert of Coxbich, county Leicester, yeoman, eldest son of Mary by John Gilbert deceased and 2. Joseph Bostock of Weston yeoman by which for 10s paid by Bostock, the Markhams and Gilbert covenanted to levy a fine of property as in D 779B/T 1145-6 to the use of Bostock, his heirs and assigns. Dated 4 May - 1774
