7 - Copy of appointment dated 17 March 1768 by James Shuttleworth of Forcett, county York, esquire, reciting in part the will of Robert Holden late of Aston esquire dated 28 November 1742, that James the second son of James and Mary Shuttleworth has reached age of 21 and in obedience to the recited will has taken the name of Holden, that Shuttleworth pursuant to the power given him by the will appointed that his son James may from day of reaching age of 21 hold all the rights, profits etc devised to him by the will as fully as if he had attained the age of 25. Dated 11 October - 1779

8 - Copy of lease for possession dated 11 May 1772 by 1. James Shuttleworth of Forcett, county York, esquire, to 2. Robert Holden of Newark, county Nottingham, esquire, eldest son and heir of Alexander Holden late of Newark esquire deceased and nephew of Robert Holden deceased, which Robert the nephew survived Joseph Greaves of Ingleby deceased, for 5s., of Leicestershire property as in deeds of 29 and 30 March 1754 and cottage in Aston, close near adjoining called the Croft, parcel of land adjoining and lately inclosed by Act of Parliament and allotted in the Nether Field, containing 3 acres 38p, parcel lately inclosed by Act of Parliament now divided into 2 closes, late in the occupation of William Rolleston and Robert Gaskyn, pingle or close called Green Leys late in occupation of William Jowett, parcel called the Holt late in the tenure of John Wright, chief rent or fee farm rent of 1s 6d issuing out of lands late of Robert Holden deceased, all in Aston. Robert Holden of Aston esquire, eldest son and heir of Alexander Holden late of Newark esquire, deceased, James Shuttleworth of Forcett eldest son and heir of Richard Shuttleworth late of the same place esquire, deceased, Mary his wife, only child and heir at law and a devisee of the will of Robert Holden late of Aston esquire, and James Holden of Aston esquire, (heretofore James Shuttleworth) second son of James and Mary Shuttleworth to 2. William Masterman of Grays Inn esquire, for 10s. of manor of Aston, advowson of Aston, capital messuage or mansion house of Aston, all property late the estate of Robert Holden the testator deceased, in Aston, 3 ancient fee or chief rents payable out of various lands (details given), pension or rent of £3 6s 8d issuing out of Mr Finch's hereditaments, cottage, close adjoining called the Croft, parcel of land containing 3 acres 38p as in D 779B/T 637 above, which were purchased out of Robert Holden's the testator's personal trust estate after his death, from John Saxon of Sawley waterman, close containing 23 acres as in D 779B/T 645-6 above purchased likewise from William Rolleston of Aston, the Holt as in D 779B/T 637 purchased likewise from Thomas Hickinbottom of Ratcliffe, county Nottingham, yeoman, messuage and 3 yardlands in Aston late in tenure of John Bancroft of Aston yeoman and purchased likewise from Bancroft, chief rent of 1s 6d issuing out of Holden's lands in Aston likewise purchased from William Chambers, the manors of Weston, Wilne alias Great Wilne, Shardlow, with all property in same places, late the estate of Robert Holden the testator deceased, and all premises late his estate in Sawley, Long Eaton, Little Wilne, and all property of party 1. in above-named places which were Robert Holden deceased's or have been purchased out of his trust estate; the Leicestershire property purchased from John Man of Lincolns Inn (see D 779B/T 643-4) out of the trust estate, the rectory of Sawley or Sallow and Wilne, with mansion place and all premises within the prebend and parish, demised by lease of 18 June 1745 to Robert Holden esquire, deceased, see D 779B/T 559, and everything devised in trust by the testator to Robert Holden son of Alexander, of party 1. above, and to Joseph Greaves, or purchased out of his personal estate. 10 - Copy of final concord dated Holy Trinity 12 G III and All Souls 13 GIII [1772], made between William Masterman esquire, plaintiff, James Shuttleworth esquire, Mary his wife and James Holden defendants, concerning the manors of Aston, Weston, Wilne or Great Wilne and Shardlow. 50 messuages, 50 cottages, 20 dovehouses, 50 gardens, 50 orchards, 500 acres land, 400 acres meadow, 500 acres pasture, 100 acres wood, 100 acres moor, £7 rent, common of pasture, free fishing in the Trent, view of frankpledge, goods and chattels of felons and fugitives in above-named places, Sawley, Long Eaton, Little Wilne and Wilne, advowson of Aston. £2,120. Dated 11 October - 1779

11 - Copy of final concord dated as D 779B/T 650 above and between plaintiff and defendants as D 779B/T 650, concerning 16 messuages, 100 acres land, 100 acres meadow, 100 acres pasture, 1/3 manor of Halstead and of 6 messuages, 50 acres land, 50 acres meadow, 50 acres pasture in Halstead, Tilton, Marfield or Marefield South and Whatborough or Whatburgh, 1/3 rectory of Tilton, tithes belonging and of advowsons of vicarages of churches of Halstead and Tilton, county Leicester. £620. Dated 11 October - 1779

12 - Copy of will of James Holden late of Aston but now of Derby esquire, to his friend Leonard Fosbrooke of Shardlow esquire, ready money, securities for money, in trust for Holden and his use, and all other personal estate and effects, in trust to sell and dispose thereof; Fosbrooke is to receive money due to Holden in trust for latter and upon trust to pay debts, funeral expenses, charges of executing the trusts of this will, then to pay Holden's wife Constance Elizabeth £100, then to use remainder towards discharging the sum of £1,000 raised by a mortgage lately made to Alexander Atkinson Holden of Darley next Derby esquire, in trust for Holden, of divers manors etc. Executor, Leonard Fosbrooke. (Dated 11 April 1779) Examined with draft of original will, 11 October - 1779

13 - Copy of court roll of the manor of Sawley: admittance to the uses of Robert Holden's will in which the jurors and homage presented that Robert Holden esquire, died seised of messuage in Long Eaton then late in occupation of Thomas Taft and Edward Woolley, oxgang of land, meadow and pasture dispersed in several fields of Long Eaton then late in Thomas Taft's occupation, all the copyhold lands late of John Shelton the elder and John Shelton the younger, Smalley Croft in Long Eaton lying open to and adjacent to Home Close then late in Robert Storer's occupation, reciting in part Holden's will dated 28 November 1742 (see D 779B/T 560) and finding that Robert son of Alexander Holden is surviving devisee in trust of the will, that James and Mary Shuttleworth are dead, that their sons James and William successively assumed the name of Holden and died without issue, and that their son Charles has now assumed the name of Holden and is in posession of the lands devised by Robert Holden and is entitled with Robert son of Alexander to be admitted to the premises, and they were admitted, fine £16. Dated 1 May - 1797
