1 - Brother R, Abbot of Garendon]and P[aul] Abbot of St. Mary of Legre Prato [?Leicester Meadow] and Master A of Wilne, commissioned [agents] of the Pope, in the case between William, parson of Seale, and William son of Ralph of Measham and Lucian, son of Robert Desert [Dysart}. William the parson seeks against them [the other 2] in his wood of Overseal right to take timber for building and gather wood for hedging [husbote and haibote], which belongs to the Church of Seale. After many allegations it was finally amicably settled in this way. W[illiam] and L[ucian] above mentioned concede in perpetuity for themselves and their heirs to the mother Church of Seale, 4 wagon [loads] of wood [timber] for burning, 2 each to be gathered by the parsons of the same church annually in the same wood of Overseal in preparation for the birth of the Lord [25 December]; William the parson of Seale remits and in perpetuity quitclaims all complaints which he had against them in the husbote and haibote [building and hedging rights] in wood, decided on the authority of the Lord Pope - [1186-1205]
2 - Covenant to settle disputes between Thomas of Ridware, and the Abbey of Merevale, whereby, on the intervention of Walter of Baa and Robert of Stoke, the said Thomas releases to the Abbey all claim to common of pasture in the heath and waste of Shertwode in Overseal, and in the wood La Gore, on which release the said Abbey is to give the said Thomas a palfrey etc. - 6 May 1313
3 - Grant by Thomas of Ridware, Lord of Great Seal, to Merevale Abbey, that they may enclose their meadow in great Seal called le Mormedewe, near le Tounhous, and a ceratin piece of land before the gate of the sheep fold towards Chilcote, in return for which the said Thomas may enclose all his meadow of Seal called le Mormedewe, the Abbey reserving common of pasture as long as the meadows are not enclosed - 26 May 1314
