1 - J(ohn) B(arker)’s schedule of the writings belonging to the Hypothecation of Mr William Barker’s house in Smyrna: 1. (B/2) (D7674/BarD/800/8) 2. 1788 Record of the Title deeds, 27 December. 3. 1788 July 19, transfer of the Hypothecation to J. Barker and W. Walker esq’s, exors to Mr. Charlesworth for 15,000 dollars paid to several persons as under 4. 1787 June 29, paid by Mr. William Barker, 20 September 1786 to Mr. Isaac Morier, 2,500 dollars 5. 3 - Copies of agreement registered in the British Chancellaria at Syrna, 1782 November 1: Hypothecation by Mr William Barker of the Yedick of his house in the Frank Street (Strat Franca), Syrnia, for 15,000 dollars (piastre) divided as follows: Lee and Maltass, 4,000 at 5%, Valentine Humphreys, Isaac Morier and Joseph Franel each 2,000 at 8%: Lee and Maltass, Humphrys, Morier and Franel each a further 500 at 5%; with certificate of registration before George Boddington, Cancellier, and copy of Barker’s agreement to deposit the original agreement, and papers proving his property in the Yedick, in safe of said Lee and Maltass. (Italian and English.) 1787 February 1: Several opinions concerning the good security of the above: Anthony Hayes, consul; Joseph Franel; Lee and sons; Morier and Gribble; George Perkins. 4 - Mortgage by William Barker of Smyrna, merchant of rent of 3 warehouses in his backyard, as security for payment of 4,900 dollars due to his wife Mary Elizabeth; recites various ways in which debts arose; if the house is sold after his decease, before she is repaid, the balance is to be paid to her after payment of £2,000 due to Mr Charlesworth’s ex’ors; refers to various other previous transactions connected with these matters; witnessed by George Roddington, Cancellier; countersigned and sealed by Francis Werry, consul.
