1 - Marriage settlement of John, second son of Sir John Stanhope of Elvaston and wife Katherine, and Olive, daughter of Edward Beresford of Beresford, Staffordshire, esq and wife Dorothy. Sir John Covenants to levy fine to Richard Cope and Robert Purefoy of manors of Elvaston, Thulston, Ambaston, Borrowash, Tawton or Toton and Barton in the Beans, (Nottinghamshire); rectories and advowsons of Spondon and Elvaston; Morley Park, in Duffield and Belper; Bayliff Close, Spondon; Southhouse Grange in Stanley and Dale; lands in Borrowash north of river Derwent.
