D3292 - Heathcote and Hartington: photocopies of deeds relating to property at Heathcote in the parishes of Hartington and Biggin - (1697-1892)
1 - Conveyance by Edward Edensor of Crongston, pa Hartington, yeoman and Thomas Edensor of Crongston, yeoman to John Townsend of Tibshelf, yeoman of property at Heathcote, pa Hartington including the Newclose, 4 closes called the Cobb Torrs, close called the Dale end pingle with barn etc, 1 a on the Sidlands, 3 a called the Long Acres, in possession of John Millward of Heathcote for £195. Dated 8 Aug 1687 - 1687
2 - Copy conveyance by lease (D3292/2/1) and release (D3292/2/2) with assignment of mortgages by John Townsend of Norwell, Notts, gent and William Broadhurst of Newark-upon-Trent, Notts, merchant, to Luke Williamson of Roleston, Notts, gent of property in Heathcote, pa Hartington, occupied by closes called Cobb Torrs, the Dale end Pingle with barn etc, 1 a on the Sidelands and 3 a called the Long Acres, mortgaged by Townsend to Broadhurst for £180 on 14 Apr 1749; also mentions mortgage by Townsend and wife Elizabeth of 2/3 of manor of Pallace Halls als Nether Hale, pa Norwell, and 2/3 of manorial property in Norwell, Norwell Woodhouse and Middlethorpe, Notts, to Luke Williamson for £300 on 21 May 1752 for £120 for Townsend to redeem mortgage on Heathcote property from Williamson, leaving property in Heathcote and in Notts mortgaged by Townsend to Williamson for £420. Dated 30-31 Jan 1753 - 1759
3 - Quitclaim. Nicholas Wood of Heaton, Yorks, clothier, and wife Elizabeth, a daughter and legatee of John Townsend of Norwell, Notts, clerk, deceased. John Townsend of Norwell, Notts, gent, brother of Elizabeth Wood and exor of John Townsend of Norwell, deceased. For £300 legacy under will of John Townsend. Dated 12 Jan 1753/4 - 1759
4 - Quitclaim. Samuel Wood of Leister Dyke, pa Bradford, Yorks, clothier, and wife Jane, a daughter and legatee of John Townsend of Norwell, Notts, clerk, deceased. John Townsend of Norwell, Notts, gent, brother of Jane Wood and exor of John Townsend of Norwell, deceased. For £300 legacy under will of John Townsend. 22 Apr 1754 - 1759
5 - Schedule of deeds relating to property bought by Francis Featherstone from trustees of Elizabeth Salt of Biggin covering copyhold 1721-1833, freehold 1822-1825, Dale end in Biggin 1687-1825.
6 - Conveyance by Francis Featherstone and mortgagee to John Dain property in Heathcote, pa Hartington. Dated 4 Mar 1873 - 1873
7 - Probated will of Eliza Hardy of Lordsmill Street, 1890, Chesterfield, widow mentioning late husband James; grandson Charles Thomas Armstrong; Caroline, Clare and Elizabeth Hardy and Mary Ann Cox, daughters of late brother-in-law Richard Hardy; Mary Ann Mawer of Louth, Lincs; and Clara Hemmings of Melbourne Australia, daughter of Arthur White, late of Chesterfield and now of Dursley, Gloucestershire. Dated 10 Feb 1885 - 1890
8 - Copy probated will of Henry Dain Walters of Newhaven, farmer appointing brother John Dain of Newhaven, farmer and Edward Dain of Staly Bridge as executors. Property to be shared by nieces Mary Percival, Elizabeth Dain, Margaret Dain and Sarah Dain household effects and farm stock to brother John. 9 Feb 1882. And codicil to will of Henry Dain Walters leaving half property to niece Mary Percival, wife of Isaac of Newhaven, farmer, half to be divided equally between nieces Elizabeth Margereson, wife of Charles Frederic of Brampton, auctioneer, and Sarah Dain of Newhaven, spinster; appoints Charles Frederic Margereson and Edwin Atkin of Heathcote, farmer as exors as brother John Dain now dead. Dated 10 Oct 1889. Date of death 11 Feb 1890 - 1890
9 - Will of Charles Frederic Margereson of New Brampton, near Chesterfield, auctioneer and valuer. Household effects to wife Elizabeth property in trust to be sold and money invested for interest as annual income for wife Elizabeth and to bring up sons and daughters (not specified) wife Elizabeth and Lewis Firth Shaw of Dover Villa, New Brampton, schoolmaster as executors. 6 Sep 1892 - 1892
