Has been in correspondence with Mr Bristow about the infringement of Francis Burdett's fishery rights, but he persists in intending to fish, even when threatened with the law. Action must be taken, otherwise others will follow the example - 25 May 1814
102 - Letter: Twyford, S Bristow junior to Dr Sleath (copy letter in W B Stevens' hand). Admits fishing the previous Friday as a direct response to aggression by Dr Sleath's "banditti". Quarrel to continue if Sleath does not desist harassment - 10 Feb 1815

Lord Harrington, the previous owner of Bristow's estate (only recently purchased), did not presume to fish. Sir Henry Crewe has already taken action to stop Bristow fishing on a part of the main river - 13 Feb 1815
