1 - Photocopies (/1) of a volume entitled “Brassington Measuring Book”: Lead ore measurement accounts of Thomas Slack, Barmaster for the Liberty of Brassington recording the names of mines and proprietors, ore amounts for belland (lead ore when reduced to powder), old ends, ore, lots and new ends, the names of purchasers and price for lots sold. Also including separate accounts of the purchasers and amount of ore bought 1792-1802 (pp. 2-67); Unsigned draft letter addressed from Miner’s Arms, Brassington, with thanks for sending music for a march and enclosing a list [not found] of the band’s repertoire n.d. (p 68) [19th cent]; Accounts with Thomas Slack, landlord of the Miner’s Arms, Brassington (son of Thomas Slack, barmaster from 1792-1804), mainly for supply of ale, board, meals, spirits, tobacco and sums of money lent, 1808-1838 (pp. 69-130); Accounts with Joshua Slack for ale, tobacco and money lent, 1867-1872 (pp. 131-139). - 20th cent
