ZT - Deeds - 1756-1811
1 - Release between Edmund Chittenden of Horthiam (Sussex) gent., youngest son of John Chittenden late of Hawkhurst (Kent) gent., and a legatee of late John Chittenden, John Chittenden of Hawkhurst, eldest son, principal devisee and residuary legatee of late John Chittenden, and Edward Osbourne of Brembly (Kent), gent., reciting will of John Chittenden deceased, dated 9 Mar 1727/8, by which he bequeathed to Edmund Chittenden £400 at age of 21 and to John Chittenden various lands including his messuage and several pieces of land belonging (20 acres) at High Gate in Hawkhurst, with messuage called Barrets and two parcels of land (4 acres) in Hawkhurst, subject to payment of above legacy, and subject to conveyance of lands to Edmund at age of 21; now in consideration that legacy of £400 have been discharged, lands are conveyed to Edmund as requested by will, Feb - 1756
2-4 - Bargain and sales by trustees of turnpike roads from Gander Lane to Sheffield [Yorkshire] and Mosbrough Green to Clowne, to Cornelius Heathcote Rodes of Barlborough esq., in consideration of £50, such proportion of tolls collected on above roads as the £50 shall bear to the whole sum due upon these roads, from 24 Jun 1783 until repayment at 5% a year or for duration of turnpike trust, Jul - 1783
5 - As D2043/ZT/2-4 above, but between trustees and John Bowden of Barlborough, gent, Jul - 1783
6 - Probate copy of will of Philip Padley of Sheffield [Yorkshire], shoemaker 1811; letters of administration annexed, granted to Sarah Padley, widow, relict of testator, and Thomas Hibbard, both executors, 25 Jun 1814, Mar - 1811
