2 - Mortgage by demise for 500 years by Edward Wright of Wessington blacksmith to Dorothy Halton of Nottingham spinster of two closes in Wessington called Taylors Stiper Cliff (51/2 acres), with tithes therefrom, with free access to the same over Taylors Barrowcliff Close and Townsteads Lane. Consideration £70. Dated 8 Feb 1750/51. Endorsed with memorandum of agreement to assign mortgage by Dorothy Halton to her brother Imanuel Halton. Dated 26 Feb 1761 - [1751]

5 - Assignment of lease for residue of term of 21 years by William Hopkinson of Toadhole Furnace, Shirland farmer, to his son John Hopkinson of Wessington farmer of a messuage in Wessington and the following closes: the Homestead, the Lane, the Oak close, the Old Pasture, the New Close, the Barrow Cliff, the Stibbard Cliffe, the Well Close, and the Acre containing in all 25 acres 1 rood 38 perches; and also a moiety of the following closes: the Homestead, the Cow Pasture, the Three Nooked Close, the Croft, the barn Close, the Grass Croft, the Near Coate Close, the Coate Flat, the Near, Middle and Further Broom Closes, the Long Close, the Buts, the Meadow, the Oxpasture, the Stanfoot Cliffe, the Pingle, and the Cane and a moiety of that messuage known as the Broom House, containing in all 78 acres 3 roods 30 perches: timber and mineral rights reserved to lessor - 1 Dec 1783
6 - Release to follow lease for possession by George Chaworth of Anesley (co Nottingham) esq and Samuel Hinde of Whittington gent to John Hopkinson of Wessington farmer of two undivided third parts of one moiety, and one undivided fourth part of one moiety of a messuage in Wessington and the Three Nook Close, the Close before the door, Little Croft, Grass Croft, Barn Close, Long Close, the Butts, the Meadow, Oxpasture, Stafford Cliff, Farm Broom Close, the Pingle, Middle Broom Close, Coal Flatt, the Lane, Near Broom Close, the Near and Far Coat Closes. Consideration £500 paid to Chaworth and £200 to Hinde. Warranty excludes the right title and interest of Rev Chaworth Hallows of Glapwell Clerk in one undivided third of a moiety and one undivided fourth part of a moiety of the said premises. 7 - Deed of exchange between Robert Spear of Manchester merchant and John Hopkinson of Broom House, Wessington farmer and John Hopkinson jun, his son, whereby Spear conveys to the Hopkinsons the Coal Pit Close (3 acres) in Wessington in exchange for another close (3 acres) adjoining the Southeries. Recital of bankruptcy of Charles Low and George Low, one-time owners of the Coal Pit Close which they purchased from Rev John Bourne, and of purchase of same by Spear under the commission of bankruptcy. 11-12 - Lease and release by Samuel Roberts of Alfreton yeoman to John Hopkinson of Broomhouse, Alfreton yeoman of a messuage in Wesington and the following closes: the Nine Half Acres, Broad Place, Overbroad Place, the Over Wet Acre, the Underfall, the Dole Place and the Hilly Well Sick Dole, now better known as the House Close, the Near and Far Broad Closes, Thrive Acres, the Underfall, and the Wet Acre, containing in all 131/2 acres. Consideration £962 10s. Dated 2/3 Dec 1814. Endorsed with memorandum of conveyance of the Underfall and the Wet Acre to James Slater 9 Dec 1864 - 1814
