History
Built for the White Star Line before its merger with the Cunard Line, the Georgic was requisitioned as a troopship in 1940. In 1941 she was sunk by a German bombing raid whilst docked at Port Tewfik in Egypt. She was refloated, rebuilt, and returned to service in 1944.
