| Description | By the Act 3 Geo III c 24 (1763) certificates of annuities and rent charges on freehold land were to be lodged with the Clerk of the Peace and entered by him in a register. This was in order to prevent fraudulent voting, as an annuity of £2 or more entitled the grantee to a vote. |
