Administrative HistoryLinden House was originally built c1860 by Dr Christopher Hall who lived in and ran the doctors surgery from Linden House with his wife, 3 children and 2 servants. Following his death in the 1960's Linden House was sold to Derbyshire County Council becoming a Children's Home in the 1970, following a proposal in 1969 to purchase and adapt the building as replacement for Meadow Bank (see DCC/SC/1/14).

As of February 2016, the home provides longer-term care, accommodating 5 young people.
