Administrative HistoryThe Getaway opened in 2012 to provide short break and shared care for disabled children and young people age 10-18 years. It replaced the Dallimore Project in Kirk Hallam which opened at Stanton Vale School in 2001 (office based at Heanor Library). The Getaway provides a stimulating and exciting experience for 10 to 18-year-olds and has six bedrooms with en-suite facilities and specialist equipment to ensure young people have a safe and enjoyable stay.
