The register does not relate items officially accessioned into what later became the archives collection, but rather to current or more recent county council records. At least until 1949, and certainly until 1962, there was only a limited distinction between the archival, current and semi-current records of the council. Records donated to or deposited with the council seem to have been managed separately and do not appear to feature in this register. |
