TitleBritish Coal planning documents, deposited in Alfreton Library in January 1990 by the British Coal Corporation, after the confirmation by central government of the Smotherfly Site (Suspension of Public Rights of Way) Order of 1989, under the Opencast Coal Act of 1958. It was legally required for a copy of the order and associated documents to be placed in a location where they might be viewed by the public, and in this case Alfreton Library was chosen.
