| Administrative History | The Midland Acid Company, Pye Bridge was formed in 1913, taken over by James Oakes and Co. in 1968 and finally closed in October 1971. In 1955 Midland Acid took over the immediately adjacent works of Kempson and Co., Tar distillers, from whom Midland Acid had purchased land to build their works in 1913. A few records of Kempson and Co. survive among these records. |
