Description	This list describes the minute books of the County Council from its creation in 1889 up to reorganisation in 1974 under the 1972 Local Government Act. All volumes are the official signed minutes unless otherwise stated. Committees are listed in chronological order of foundation. In many cases, committees took over functions from bodies run by Quarter Sessions and the earlier records can be found among the Quarter Sessions records. In two cases, the same minute book was used before and after 1889 and they have been listed in this series.
