| Administrative History | This committee originally included sub-committees on toll bridges and finance. In 1930, sub-committee were created on town planning (for separate minutes, see 1/46/1) and district roads advisory committees for separate minutes, see 1/76/1-7), covered initially in these minutes. A road safety committee, including members of the bridges and highways committee, was set up in November 1949 and minutes are included in these volumes. A new highways committee was set up in May 1968 and this continued to meet until local government reorganisation in 1974 |
