DescriptionThis Committee dealt with the nomination of councillors to serve on committees, joint committees and other bodies, and the filling of casual vacancies arising from the death or resignation of members. Reorganisation of committee functions was also normally discussed within this committee, as were the approval of bye-laws, licences and orders. From 1968, there was a Parliamentary and General Purposes Committee, see 1/64/1.
