Description | He turns down her invitation to the Derby Branch of the Royal Naval Association to visit but in the hope it can be re-arranged for next summer to include the Sir John Franklin "museum"; he repors on his visit to the Maritime Museum at Greenwich, seeing the relics of Sir John's voyages, summaries of its letters, chiefly those of his niece, Mary Anne Kay, who married Lieutenant Kendall, printed works on him, many being presented by the Richardson family, and the portrait of Admiral Gell by Sir Joshua Reynolds; he promises to return the Historical Manuscripts Commission list |
