DescriptionHe quotes an extract from Dr. Stock's History of the Church Missionary Society, Vol. 1 page 246, on Sir John Franklin's urging the Society to extend its work to other Indian tribes, particularly the Eskimo. Wilson Cash adds that the work was carried out by the Society for many years until responsibility was handed to the Canadian Church, with the C.M.S. giving an endowment grant of £25,000 in 1920 when work was transferred.
