TitleLetter from John Franklin to his sister-in-law Sarah Henrietta Kay, just before his departure on his second Arctic land expedition, referring to the illness of his first wife
Date[Feb 1825]
DescriptionEleanor feels much better this morning, stil in bed; he regrets his occupations oblige him to be so much from her; for the next three or four days she will want a companion, as he is employed writing his letters to people in Hudson's Bay for deposit of provisions to be made and dispatched to Canada on 4 March; they would both be obliged if Mary Anne were with Eleanor for a few days; he will call for her tomorrow on his return from Woolwich and take her by coach with him; inconvenient for him to write letters in the drawing room, as his papers have to be spread out.
