TitleLetter from John Franklin to his sister-in-law Sarah Henrietta Kay, on arrangements immediately after his return from the second Arctic land expedition
Date3 Oct 1827
DescriptionSorry for cause of detention at Greenwich, but hopes for Mr Kay's speedy recovery following Dr Domville's treatment and advice.  Was unable to visit: was discussing with the Governor and Committee of the Hudson Bay Company the various accounts of the expedition.  Lists similar forthcoming commitments with the Colonial Office, Sir George Cockburn, Mr Barrow and Governor and Deputy Governor of the Hudson Bay Company. Has had a good report from Mrs Cracroft about improvement in Eleanor's eyes, but will see doctor for advice.  Has drawings which he may be allowed to show her; needs to discuss with her and Mr Kay arrangements for the Devonshire Street house.
