Title	Letter from John Franklin to Eleanor Anne Porden, on his hoping to meet up with Eleanor and her niece in Hyde Park

Description	Note accompanying the arrival of Eleanor's servant. Room much brighter and more cheerful than usual. Happy to "exhibit" with Eleanor's niece in Hyde Park on the condition that she walks between the hours of two and four (more spectators). Regrets that he'll be busy all day but on Friday he will visit her home. [Undated but Eleanor had sent a letter on 15 Jan 1823 asking him to "exhibit" with her niece].

Transcript or Index	To Miss Porden My dear friend, I had written the accompanying note previous to the arrival of your servant which would have been sent in a few minutes had he not called. You may congratulate me on the snow, for I find my room much more light and cheerful than in the gloomy days <which usually prevail in >this agreable city I shall also be happy to exhibit with your niece in Hyde Park if she chooses – on the condition that she walks between the hours of two and four when there may be a chance of our having plenty of spectators I regret that I shall be occupied all today, and also in the evening, as I must attend to my amanuensis, but on Friday may I hope to see you at home. If you do not say anything to the contrary I shall conclude the answer is affirmative. Believe me Yours most affectionately John Franklin
