Description	Refers to Eleanor’s pressing concerns; illness of Eleanor’s baby was hardly surprising when Eleanor was anxious herself whilst nursing and weaning the baby; very pleased to hear of Eleanor’s reconciliation with Lady F.; has not heard from Lady F. directly; only via Maria and via Eleanor’s note; glad that writer’s sisters will be able to help Eleanor in her “new sphere of labour”; Eleanor’s “new responsibilities” eased because “suspense had become certainty”; Franklin home from school because of scarlet fever; think about one subject all the time; reading “the Times” to the exclusion of everything else; wondering how it will all end; everything is affected by war; not been to Haslar for weeks; Mary and Franklin have been there and found everything as usual; does not have any news for Eleanor about anyone Eleanor knows; everything is well with them, Mary and writer send best love to Eleanor and her “chicks” and “kindest regards” to Eleanor’s husband. Paper black-edged.
