Transcript or Index	Transcript My dear Mrs Gell I send you the part of Mis Eyre’s note relating to the sad report of the loss of the Calypso; I am very sorry that it is so little satisfactory but probably nothing certain was known, at Wellington on the 18th of March. My little invalid is much better and may I trust be himself again before Papa appears. The rainy weather has prevented my going to see Mrs Kendall in her new quarters where I hear she is comfortably established and as usual making the best of it. She deserves to be happy, she is so resolved not to be miserable. You remember seeing Mr [?]Battersby here, he is about to leave his curacy at Gosport and a social tea party is given in his honour, tomorrow evening when all classes are admitted for 1/6 each. I am going with Josephine Mrs [?]Desorrolt and Jack. We each take our own tea spoons. It is patronised by the High Church Clergy but quite according to my principles – I don’t know exactly how we are to be amused after tea.
