Administrative History	Bolsover School Board was established some time after the 1870 Education Act. The Board was responsible for building a new infants school in Whaley Thorns in 1902 after concerns about overcrowding at the Whaley Thorns School. Under the 1902 Education Act, local authorities assumed the duties previously held by school boards, so Derbyshire Education Committee was set up.
