Administrative History | The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty was founded in January 1895 by Octavia Hill, Sir Robert Hunter and Hardwicke Ranslwey. In 1907, the National Trust Act gave the charity the status of a statutory corporation, with further powers granted under the National Trust Act of 1937. |
