Administrative HistoryWalter Kirkland was born in Derby (St Alkmund's c1828). By 1851 he was residing in Tonbridge [Tunbridge], Kent and working as an Assistant Magistrates Clerk. He married Emily Crundwell in 1856 and retired to Matlock before 1891.
