DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

[Plan of lands in Ashburn owned by Edward Wilson 1770]. Scale:of 10 chains [1:2400]. Size: 36 x 40 cm. Materials: ink on paper, brown wash. Centred on: SK180460. Notes: compass indicator. Shows 100 acres west of Spitalhill named closes, areas numbered for terrier: tenants names added at later date: adjacent owners: stream, spring, 'Spittle Hill', toll bar: first map contained in a manuscript volume 'Rough plans and terriers of Ashburn, Clifton and Hedmaston. 1770'.
