DescriptionBolsover's Best Bits was an at Bolsover Castle and other venues in Bolsover District to celebrate the turn of millennium. Various art forms were involved, including film, music, puppets, theatre, dance. It was funded by English Heritage and The District of Bolsover (Bolsover District Council).
The file includes correspondence, funding application for Millennium Festival of England, invitation from Chris Smith MP (Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport) to Tina Glover of Junction Arts to attend the Milliennium Festival large award announcement Feb 1999, event posters, leaflet and event plan, District of Bolsover events list for 1999-2000, photocopied articles from newspapers, typed captions relating to famous visitors to Bolsover Castle through history (possibly made in collaboration with Bolsover Women's Institute), correspondence re workshops on carnival arts, evaluation document February 2001, contract with artist Marion Haywood, application for scheduled monument consent allowing the erection of marquees at Bolsover Castle
