Archive Reference / Library Class No.D7913/4/1/1989
TitleJunction 28 flyers, advertisements and ephemera
Date1979-1989
Description1989 is the latest date that should be on this file, as the contents come from a folder marked "pre-1990". However, many of the items in this folder do not give a year. The folder contains the following:

Notices, circular letters and similar items from the New Street Centre and the Picture Palace, South Normanton, late 1970s to early 1980s, calling for participation in the following:
-South Normanton Carnival (year obscured, but typeface suggests late 1970s)
-Open Studio Days, for artists and crafts enthusiasts
-Singing
-Clay Play, Choir, Carnival, Silk Screen Printing
-Local History exhibition
-The Reader Writes Back (see D7913/6/3/2/2)
-"Music Sponsorship" relating to the production of a music cassette of songs from "the play", i.e. Swish That Dolly (see D7913/5)
-"Campaign To Re-instate The Arts" relating to cuts in funding from Derbyshire County Council
-Open Meetings

Typed newsletters, headed e.g. "Diary Dates", "What's On Next At Junction 28", "New St Centre Information" etc.
Printed newsletter: South Normanton Community Centre Newsletter, spring 1979. The masthead shows the character of Supernorm as featured in D7913/3/3/1977/3, holding a sword and shield in mimicry of the Crusader on the Daily Express masthead. The shield bears the initials S N, which presumably stands for both the name of the character, Supernorm, and the town of South Normanton.
