Administrative History
Kelly's Directory of Derbyshire for 1906 states that a parish school was built in Hartshorne in 1642 and restored in 1898. When the new school building opened, the boys' department amalgamated with the girls' department (formerly part of Hartshorne Girls and Infants School) to create a new mixed department.
Custodial History
These records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office by Hartshorne Parish Council in May 2015. According to information provided by a local resident, they may have been out of the custody of the school since an exhibition in the 1980s, although not necessarily in the custody of the parish council until immediately prior to their transfer to the record office.
