Administrative History | The Club was formed 1863, and has been based at Station Road, Darley Dale since its establishment. The ground is now under trustee ownership. The Club is a member of the Derbyshire County League and previously in Premier League, highlights Derbyshire played Hampshire in 1975, John Player League on the ground, with a 5000-strong crowd.
Charles Augustus Ollivierre (1876-1949) was the first black West Indian man to play county cricket in England. He had toured the country with the West Indian Cricket Team in 1900 and lived in Glossop to obtain his residential qualification for playing county cricket. He first appeared for Derbyshire in July 1902 and retired in 1907. He played for Darley Dale Cricket Club between 1906 and 1911 and was latterly a Vice President. |
