DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A rough Plan of several pieces of land lying at Darley occupied by Henry Thornhill Esq. Surveyed by Beighton Jn 1764. Surveyor: J. Beighton. Scale: of 10 [chains 1:1600] Size: 50 x 47 cm. Materials: ink damaged paper, now in two pieces separated along central fold, colour on roads and boundaries. Centred on: SK275624 Notes: shows 37 acres of named fields with areas and reference numbers: buildings in plan, trees, Derwent River and stream: table details 'Neat Land' and 'Waste'. Location: DRO, D769B/P53
