This copy is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

Endorsed 'No.23 Bowden Chapell'. [c.1640]. Scale: of 48 [chains] [1:7900] with dividers. Size: 90 x 47 cm. Materials: coloured ink on paper. Centred on: SK058789 Notes: top of sheet east. Shows wasts and commons in Chapel en le Frith with boundaries, acreage, proprietors, field names, 1893 acres with divisions into best, middle, worst sorts of land partitioned equally with one part Rex, some boundary features, crosses, walls, gates. Martinside Cross, Sparrowpit Yate, Colborn Moss: houses including Ridge Hall with 3 stories and 4 gables: inhabitants identified: lime kilns: table with areas by grade.
