This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A Plan of the Manor of Calver in the County of Derby belonging to the Worshipfull Rowland Eyre Esq. Calver, Anno Dom. 1752. Taken by Robt. Meller. Surveyor:Robert Meller. Scale: Protracted from a Scale of 4 chains or 16 Poles in an Inch [A scale of 20 chains is drawn in the border below] [1:3200]. Size: 70 x 102 cm. Materials: coloured ink on paper. Centred on: SK240745 Notes: top of sheet NNW. Estate plan, 771 acres, with field names, reference numbers, area: closes by River Derwent noted 'formerly Reconby Wood': evidence of earlier open field lands in New Close: houses in block plan, coloured red but careless draftsmanship loses detail: corn mill and lead mill on Mill Brook: named lanes, double dotted line: Peak Pasture, Combs, Brambly Wood: Reference table lists 27 tenants and total area of land types, e.g. free, waste, arable, meadow.
