Description
Covers the area from the boundary of Hucklow Liberty to Eyam Town End. (With a letter from Wyatt urging that the plan be kept private).
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
A Plan or Survey of Several Rakes and Veins of Lead-Oar within the Manor of Eyam, in the Hundred of the High Peak, County of Derby, and Duchey of Lancaster [1716]. Surveyor: Samuel Hutchinson. Scale: of 30 chains 22 yds each chain [1:7900]. Size: 41 x 65 cm. Materials: ink and paint on paper. Centred on: SK210770 Notes: compass indicator. Shows line of rakes between Foolow and Eyam and north to Bretton Clough and towards Stoney Middleton: veins, coloured blue: shafts shown by building names: 'Lords meers' numbered or marked: common pastures etc. divided across rakes, personal names: Eyam church, houses with stylised elevations. Location: DRO, D7676/BagC/181, with copy DRO, D7676/BagC/182 (later, more legible).
