Archive CreatorParish of Buxworth St James
Administrative HistoryA hamlet in the chapelry, later parish of Hayfield, St James, Buxworth, was opened in 1874. Although licensed for divine service and the solemnization of marriages, the Church was not consecrated until 1915. St James' became part of the new parish of Chinley with Buxworth in 1915.
