| Custodial History | These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in July 2009, and appraised during July and August. They were found to be largely in a condition too poor to justify attempts at repair. Those that were in good condition were without any contextual information that would enable researchers to identify glebe land on them. It was therefore decided to select for retention only those maps that were useful as maps per se, rather than for identifying glebe land, such as 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey maps, or 50" Ordnance Survey maps (any edition).
The depositor had already given permission to destroy non-archival material, so the majority of the maps were disposed of.
Those maps which have been retained are re-accessioned under D7167. |
