Parish of Somercotes St Thomas
Administrative History
Somercotes was formerly part of the parish of Alfreton. The church was built in 1852 and consecrated in 1854, as a chapel of ease to the parish of Riddings, which had recently been carved out of Alfreton. Somercotes parish was constituted a separate district in 1891 and became a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1898.
