Administrative HistoryThe Derbyshire Ladies' County Golf Club was formed at a meeting of established golf clubs in the county. The meeting was held at The Midland Hotel, Derby on 17th January 1908.

The first Committee meeting was held at Smedley's Hydro, Matlock in March 1908. In the same year a county team was formed to play in the Midland Division for the County Championship, against Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. By 2008, this division ceased to exist, with Derbyshire and Staffordshire joining Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Shropshire in the North Midlands Division.

The first Autumn Meeting was held in September, while that year's AGM decided on an open tournament to be held in late Spring 1909. By 1922 the winners of the Autumn and Spring tournaments were presented with a Scratch Cup. By 1931, The Farrington Cup was presented for the best aggregate scratch score at the Spring and Autumn Meetings.

After the Second World War, Ladies Golf grew within Derbyshire, and a County Seniors' (later Veterans') Association, for ladies over 50, was formed from a match in June 1960. While later that decade a Junior Championship for golfers aged under 21 was inaugurated. A Derbyshire Seniors' Championship began in 1996, for which the winning prize was a silver salver.

Despite a reported decline in ladies entering qualifying competitions, 2008 saw the inaugural Centenary Salvers competition, in which a lady partners a junior girl.

As of 1st November 2017, the Derbyshire Ladies County Golf Association merged with the Derbyshire Union of Golf Clubs to form one body - Derbyshire County Golf Ltd.
