Description
In 1765 German Buxton, by his will, directed that £100 should be raised from his personal estate and invested, with the interest being distributed every Ash Wednesday to the poor of Wirksworth not already receiving alms or other relief. The original sum was used to purchase a piece of land at Youlcliff [Yokecliff] Head in Wirksworth.
